"Perfect to Give ... Even Better to Keep!"

Treat your hands to luxurious, smooth and creamy Lollia Hand Cream. Made with shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oil, and macadamia nut oil, this hand cream heals tired, cracked hands without leaving a greasy residue. The light fragrance options will leave your hands smelling luscious and feeling freshly moisturized. An exciting highlight for this company, Oprah chose two of their products as "Oprah's Favorite Things" this year!!

Those two products are listed below.

Little Story ...

A few years ago, pre-COVID, I was invited to go shopping with a good friend  - she's an avid shopper with excellent taste, a great eye and only purchases quality things. She wanted to take me to an enclave of some of her favorite shops & boutiques. On this outing, she introduced me to this wonderful LOLLIA Hand Cream. I'm not big on strong fragrances, I get a headache easily if something is too strong. The fragrance of these hand creams is light and lovely. Lastly, I didn't purchase the cream for myself, I actually bought it for my husband. He has terribly dry hands and sometimes in winter, they crack. He uses this hand cream daily and his hands remain moisturized and soft ... AND it's a perfect price point for a gift, for someone special.

Little Story - This post is for folks who are not really familiar with this great, long time Maine retailer. My husband's family has been wearing LL Bean boots, jackets and slippers since the '60's. I knew I was "in" with the fam when my mother-in-law gave me a pair of the "Wicked Good Moc Slippers" for Christmas, my sophomore year of college - I was so proud of them and have owned a pair ever since!! lol! I've listed just a few of their quality items - there are dozens of great quality gifts to choose from, with a 100+ year legacy to boot!!

In a crowded field of excellent outerwear retailers, LL Bean is the OG American outerwear company. As a lover of history, thought I'd offer a brief one about this amazing company!

Highlights from the L.L. Bean Legacy . . .
1911

Leon Leonwood Bean invents the Maine Hunting Shoe. After a hunting trip, where he returned home with cold and wet feet, he came up with the revolutionary idea of combining a leather upper with a rubber sole. This boot changed outdoor footwear forever!!

1912

LL Bean makes 100 pair of the new Maine Hunting Boot. He sends mailers to out-of-state sportsmen, advertising the boot. 90 of the first 100 pair were defective, the leather upper and the rubber sole separated. He refunded everyone's money, fixed the problem and once again, sent mailers out to sportsmen living outside of Maine.

1924

L.L. introduces his iconic field jacket. It was originally called the "Maine Duck Hunting Coat." It was an instant hit with hunters!

1927

L.L.'s mailings evolve into an actual catalogue. Postage magazine votes the catalogue #1 and L.L. is awarded $25.

1937

Despite the country being plunged into the Great Depression, amazingly, LL Bean boomed and sales topped one million dollars! Durability and quality had much to do with their success. Paid vacation time for employees, as well as more time spent outdoor doors ensured a devoted and grateful work force.

1941

Duck decoys are added to the L.L. Bean catalogue after shipping clerk, George Soule goes hunting with L.L.. Soule could not believe how crude L.L.'s decoys were and said he could whittle something far better. He was tasked with doing just that, and eventually made thousands of various duck and bird decoys.

1944

The Ice & Wood Carrier is introduced and has come to be known as the "Boat & Tote." The tote's simple, yet timeless design has made it a style icon that is still sold to this day!

1965

The iconic Norwegian sweater is added to the catalogue. The sweater was inspired by Norwegian fisherman who needed a sweater that was warm and durable and developed an instant following that endures today!

Amazing legacy gifts for the whole family!

Old World Christmas Ornaments ...

Fine Glass Hand Blown and Painted Ornaments of Distinction & Beauty of German Origin

Christmas Ornaments - the perfect gift for anyone, even that person who has everything!!! Those beguiling and bedazzling orbs add that special sparkle and meaning at Christmas, or anytime! We've exchanged ornaments individually, and from one family, to another. When an ornament has been a gift, one can't help but pause and think about the giver and our precious connection to them - I love that!

As promised, we've done the leg work and put together a curated collection of some of Old World's most interesting, beautiful, fun or funny ornaments, across two different posts and a couple of different categories. We call the two posts, "The Outdoorsy Collection" and of course, "The Indoorsy Collection!" Old World Christmas offers many more ornaments than we have listed, but we wanted to offer a sampling of their amazing, quality ornaments.

Little Story - For our daughter's wedding, we got lucky and were able to get a huge deal on some ornaments at a high-end retailer's Christmas clearance sale in July. At the wedding reception, a tall, white Christmas tree sparkled with white lights and150 avocado, oysters on the half shell and white coconut cupcake glass Christmas ornaments.150 wedding cake ornaments would have been perfect, but hey, a deal is a deal, so we punted and tried to think outside the box. Of the foodie ornaments available on the sale, the three we chose, are all foods that we really enjoy. Each guest was invited to take an ornament home with them and from the great feedback we received, our guests loved taking an ornament home to hang on the tree at Christmas!
